6"1 and 95 Kgs with a size 13 boot. I previously had a Skunk Ape and the new camber version is epic! I got the 163 UW and it’s a dream board to compliment my other boards. Stiff enough not to chatter at high speeds, responsive and perfect for Powder Days.
I have owned two of the c2 skunk apes (169, 170 UW) previously as i begun my snowboarding journey. They were great as i built on my skills in the beginning. After riding my friends camber boards I really disliked the c2 profile, which lead me away from the skunk ape line for a few years, always dreaming about the possibility of a camber skunk ape. And now we finally have it, BUY IT. If you are a previous or current skunk ape rider this is your board. It has so much power and drive. And it has SNAP. Us big guys need some help getting off the ground, and if you can load an ollie this thing is gonna boost you (un like the c2 version).For resort riding this is your board, if you are dropping backcountry powder lines and want to ride the skunk ape series than the c2 version is probably better, but all other scenarios i would go camber. Ever seen a sasquatch rip a circle carve around a family of fat skiers? If not, this is your board to do it :). 6'4 245lbs size 11.5 boots riding the 170 UW
The skunk ape that is wide enough for my feet is for fat people essentially. People review it who are 230 and they say its perfect for them. I'm 160 with size 13's and if its good for that dude its not gonna fly for me. Can you be the first wide ass board for skinny people like me?
Beyond stoked with this board. Just had few days on it. Slays Pow In the Trees extremely responsive. Magnatraction Holds Strong and fast tears through grud, and ICE. Has the Pop for sure when needed. I’m 5’7” and 160, with 8.5 Foot. What tow or heel drag??? Highly Recommend this Board. Enough Said.
Not usually one for reviews but I’ll make an exception, 6’1 290 size 12 riding over 30 years. Bought the 161 because it had more effective edge than my 164 with a hybrid profile that tended to have the tail wash out on iced up groomers. This thing carves like a razor blade and has pop and flex that almost seem impossible for a board this size. If you shop in man sized stores this beast is for you the dad board for dad bods!
