Great Snowboard

I am a total beginner that has been riding rental boards for 1 season. I decided to buy my own board and chose the skunk ape. I am 6' 2" and 225lbs with a size 12 boot and the 165W feels really good. I still have stupid beginner crashes, but overall feel way more in control than on any rental board I have ridden. I could tell the first time I rode the skunk ape that it was a great purchase. It is a bit more catchy than a total beginner rental, but after a couple rides you get used to it and the amount of control you have is worth it. This board is a lot faster than a renal also. I did not have any problems in deep powder or groomed flats where I was having to skate on the rental boards. Overall I had way more fun and was a lot less tired getting down the mountain!

Skate Feel

Riding this board feels like what I thought snowboarding would feel like when I first heard of snowboarding. I haven't had to bevel the base rail edges (like ever other board I've owned), it is totally stock. It charges, carves, slides, pops, it does it all for me. 169W. Thank you Lib Tech.

Wowzers

I am 6'6", 230lb, size 15US feet. My previous board was a 170W at 27cm waist from a board company everyone knows. I was toeing-out on that board quite badly, and I always found that when speed-checking after ollieing rollers, that board would chatter like crazy if it got too sideways down the hill on heel. Well, this Skunk Ape is built for Sasquatches! I got the 170UW at 28.5cm waist and this is enough difference to keep my toes at a distance from the edge that allows for much deeper carves and hard toe-edge stops. And the really amazing thing is how this board responds when doing speed checks after ollieing rollers...it is SO SMOOTH!!! With the traditional camber board I would chatter out all the time, but with the Skunk Ape when I get on my heels sideways in order to slow down, it just feels so smooth and perfect and in control! Must be a combination of the magne-traction and C2 profile. Impossible to make this board chatter. And the edge-snow contact just feels so perfect, constant, consistent, and in control. Getting GREAT power in my ollies off the rollers with the C2 profile...seems actually better than my previous board which was full camber. This board is also noticeably LIGHTER than my previous board despite being significantly wider. I could tell right away the first time I got on the lift that the board wasn't as heavy hanging on foot. The magne-traction has definitely also helped stopped a slide-out a few times which normally would have put me on my butt. Buy this board if you are a Sasquatch! It will make you a better rider. I am able to start learning new basic "tricks" on this board that I couldn't previously.

Yeti on Ketty.

Get one.

I’m 6-3 220 and this thing just flies through pretty much anything on the hill. It’s perfection. It’s defies physics I swear.

169 skunk ape

Hello buy this board if your a gaint. It’s my 1st lib tech I spent 2 days finding hidden powder spots in the trees the board wanted more I can’t wait for a good powder day to really see how it floats. On the grooomers it was crazy fast and firm. Slapped a set of now drives bindings on it I couldn’t be happier. I’m thinking about getting a shorter one for spring riding and saving the 169 for mid season and powder days
